Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy)

This is 3 years duration programme Offered in:

  • Aquaculture
  • Fisheries Environment and Ecology
  • Fishery Microbiology
  • Fish Processing Technology
  • Fishery Resources & Management.
This programme is also partly by course work and research.
The College imparts its academic programmes in Semester system.

Eligibility criteria for admission Doctoral Programme

  • Masters degree in respective / allied subjects.
  • OGPA of 6.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA / equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-1 / candidates at Master’s degree level.

Mode of Admission

  • Application for admission shall be made to the Registrar, KVAFSU, Bidar in the prescribed form, as per the Notification issued by the University from time to time.
  • Eligible applicants shall be required to appear for the written test and counseling at their own cost at the place and time specified by the University when called for.

Written test for Master’s Degree Programme

  • All the candidates seeking admission to Doctoral programme shall have to appear for a written test in the subject at master’s degree level of their specialization or in the subject as per the eligibility criteria specified by the University. The written test paper will contain 100 objective questions and each question carries one mark. The duration of the test is 2 hours. ICAR and GOI nominees/ Foreign nationals/ NRIs/ NRI sponsored are exempted from the written test.
  • Admission to entrance test does not confer on the candidate the right of admission to the Doctoral Programme and pattern of written test is subject to change as decided by the University from time to time.

Admission to Doctoral Degree Programmes shall be determined on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate as indicated below.

Counseling and mode of allocation of seats

  • There will be no counseling for Doctoral degree programme. A subject wise / overall interse merit list will be prepared and the admission committee will allot the seats based on the merit, subject to availability of seats and reservation policy of the state Government. The selected candidates will be intimated and they should register for the course within the stipulated time by producing all the original documents and by paying the prescribed fees.
